The Thompsonator – AKA Camping Jedi.

I’m a Dad, husband, father of two and mid-life crisis expert according to those that know me best.

Apparently I’ve been having an MLC since 21 – and I can’t say I disagree.

We all know that life can be complicated and stressful at times and so to unwind and relax I love nothing more than to get away from it all, just for a few days.

For me getting away from it all means getting away from ‘everything’ – no comforts at all. It’s how I recharge for another stint in the real world, some call it wild camping – my wife thinks I aspire to be homeless….

Nature, serenity, silence, watching the stars and feeling physically broken after a few days on the mountains makes me feel alive, and life with no phone, emails, WIFI, hotels, plates, chairs and ‘comforts’ allows me to test myself to the max.

It’s taken me 43 years to realise that the most exciting things in life often hide just beyond your reach – so I push myself to reach further and further each time.

Wild camping around the UK, up mountains, in woods and on riverbanks is a passion of mine, and who knows, seeing as you’re reading this, maybe yours too?
