Great Gable is a mountain in the Lake District, United Kingdom. It is named for its appearance as a pyramid from Wasdale, though it is dome-shaped from most other directions. It is one of the most popular of the Lakeland fells, and there are many different routes to the summit. Great Gable is linked by the high pass of Windy Gap to its smaller sister hill, Green Gable, and by the lower pass of Beck Head to its western neighbour, Kirk Fell. This trip to the Lake District was pretty well planned, albeit a little rushed.

We left at 6am from Reading, and hit the slopes bang on 12:00.
Weather was on our side for the early part of the afternoon, but the weather changed quickly and at 8pm we were still on the mountain.
Cloud came in early, not ideal with 40K packs and wet rocks underfoot on Great Gable, but the decent was harder than the ascent!
In total we spent 3 days on foot covering over 30K with 3km of climb!

Some fantastic memories and photo’s, check out the videos too.

My reward – and no, it’s not too much food!

My kind of epic adventure!!
